Why concrete planters?
Concrete is one of the most durable materials you can use in the home. Unlike ceramic, it doesn't chip easily on impact. Unlike plastic, it doesn't degrade over time. A well-made concrete planter will outlast almost anything else you'd put a plant in.
Our planters are made from a fine-aggregate concrete mix that's naturally porous — good for drainage and root health. Each piece is sanded by hand and sealed where appropriate. They work particularly well with succulents, cacti, and smaller houseplants.
About our process
Every planter starts with a fresh mould and a hand-mixed batch of concrete. We pour, tap to remove air bubbles, and leave to set for 24–48 hours. After demoulding, each piece is sanded through several grades and inspected before it leaves the studio.
No two pieces are exactly alike. The variation in surface texture, tone, and character that comes from hand-pouring is what makes each planter genuinely unique. All planters are made in Newcastle upon Tyne and dispatched within 3–5 working days.
