We get asked sometimes why we don't move production somewhere cheaper. The answer is simple: Newcastle is where we are, and where we make is part of what we make.

The Studio

Our studio is based in Newcastle upon Tyne — a city with a long and proud history of making things. The northeast of England has been producing goods with its hands for centuries: steel, ships, glass. We're a small, quiet continuation of that tradition, working in concrete rather than coal.

What Local Making Means

When we say handmade in Newcastle, we mean it. Every piece is mixed, poured, demolded, sanded, and finished within our studio. There is no overseas production run. There is no outsourcing. The person who made your piece is the same person who packed it and sent it to you.

The Northeast Aesthetic

There's something in the northeast palette — grey skies, stone buildings, the cold light off the Tyne — that feels very concrete. Our pieces aren't trying to be Scandinavian or Californian. They're rooted in a specific place, and we think that shows.

Supporting Local

We source materials locally where possible. We sell locally at markets. We try to be part of the creative economy of Newcastle rather than just operating from it. If you're in Newcastle and want to see the work in person, get in touch via Etsy — we'd love to hear from you.

Making things locally, by hand, at a human scale: that's not a marketing position for us. It's just how we work.
