Small homes do not need tiny versions of everything. They need fewer, better objects that carry their weight visually and practically.

Choose pieces with a job

A concrete coaster protects a table. A small planter holds a plant. A desk organiser gathers pens or tools. In a compact room, every decorative piece should also do something useful.

Repeat materials for calm

Repeating concrete in two or three small places can make a flat feel more considered: a planter on a shelf, coasters on the table and a small piece on the desk.

Use vertical surfaces

Shelves, windowsills and bookcases are ideal for concrete planters because they keep the floor clear. Group one pot with books or framed prints rather than filling the whole shelf.

Let negative space stay empty

Concrete has presence. Give it room. A single handmade object often looks better than a crowded arrangement of smaller things.
